The story of this piece
Drawn from an old-growth cedar more than 120 years old, Island Current Diptych follows two wood-grain impressions as they move in conversation across the panels. The flowing lines evoke the currents surrounding Vancouver Island, while subtle copper accents catch the light between the darker marks. Every piece is pressed entirely by hand, so the grain, ink and copper accents may vary slightly from the photographs with the pressure of each impression. These natural variations make every edition singular and impossible to repeat exactly.
