The story of this piece

Two Douglas fir impressions face one another like quiet opposites: dark and light, shadow and warmth, stillness and movement. Found in Cowichan Valley, this diptych carries the feeling of yin and yang through the living rings of the tree. Each panel answers the other, creating a balanced piece where contrast becomes harmony. Every piece is pressed entirely by hand, so the grain, copper tones and ink may vary slightly with the pressure of each impression. These natural variations make every edition singular and impossible to repeat exactly.
